Module 12

Knowledge Gained:

This week marked the end of the term, and although I wasn’t able to complete everything I had planned back in Week 1, I’ve gained something far more valuable: perspective. Academically, I engaged with the final bits of content at a slower pace, absorbing what I could.

Challenges:
It continued to be tough. My health remained a major barrier, affecting my energy, focus, and overall ability to participate fully in the final stretch. There were moments I felt I had fallen too far behind, but I kept reminding myself why I started this course in the first place. I

Successes & Strengths:
Despite not completing every goal I originally set, I am deeply proud of what I have achieved. I didn’t walk away. I didn’t give up, even when everything told me I should. I learned to ask for help, to pace myself, and to redefine success based on what was possible, not what was ideal. That mindset shift alone is a major success.

Application:
I’ve learned that being adaptable and self compassionate is just as important as being productive. I’ll take these lessons forward into future units and beyond, especially the importance of working within my capacity instead of against it.

Areas for Improvement:
While I’m still building consistency, I’ve also realised that my “improvement” won’t come from pushing harder but from designing a realistic study-life-health balance. I want to keep developing gentle structure and planning ahead for health related challenges.

Goals

  • Reflect on what worked and what not as failure, but as learning

 Module 11

Knowledge Gained:
This week has been one of the most difficult so far. Academically, I wasn’t able to engage with the content as much as I had hoped due to ongoing health issues. Personally, I’ve come to realise how important it is to listen to my body and accept that rest is sometimes necessary, even if it means stepping back temporarily from studies. I’ve learned that pushing through doesn’t always equal progress, sometimes slowing down is part of the process.

Challenges:
My health significantly impacted my performance this week. Fatigue, lack of concentration, and physical discomfort made it difficult to complete readings, engage in discussions, or attend live sessions. I felt a strong sense of guilt and frustration for not meeting my weekly goals. It was a tough emotional space to sit in, but I reminded myself that this is a temporary setback, not a failure. I reached out to my Learning Facilitator and support services for guidance and reassurance, which helped ease the pressure I was putting on myself.

Successes & Strengths:
While I didn’t achieve most of my planned goals, I did something just as important. I acknowledged my limits and asked for help. I also found comfort in light reading at night, which kept me connected to the material in a manageable way. The fact that I didn’t give up, even when everything felt hard, is something I count as a quiet strength.

Application:
Although I couldn't apply much of the academic content this week, I did apply the coping tools I’ve developed over the term; creating shorter, more realistic goals, prioritising mental health, and staying connected to support networks. These tools are just as valuable as academic knowledge, especially in difficult times.

Areas for Improvement:
I want to continue improving how I manage study around my health, building flexibility into my schedule and preparing for lowenergy days in advance.

Goals:

  • Focus on recovery first without guilt

  • Communicate clearly with facilitators about what I can and cannot manage

  • Be kind to myself

 Module 10

Knowledge Gained:
This week confirmed how far I’ve come. I’ve grown academically in understanding the course content and personally in resilience. The passion I once doubted is now more present I want to keep going despite my health affecting my performance.

Challenges:
The workload increased this week, and my energy dipped again. But I used the support tools I reached out to in Week 1, and they helped me stay afloat. I contacted my learning facilitators who have been super helpful and supportive.

Successes & Strengths:
Looking back, I didn’t let setbacks stop me. I adapted, asked for help, and remained determined to complete this term. My consistency may not be perfect, but I commitmented.

Application:
Now I feel ready to apply all I’ve learned not just academically, but in life; time management, flexibility, confidence, and self-reflection.

Areas for Improvement:
I still want to improve my editing skills before submitting work, but I now feel capable of learning this, too.

Goals:
  • Reflect on what this term has taught me

 Module 9

Knowledge Gained:
This week I experienced a shift, I’m beginning to feel passionate about the content and even shared a resource with a peer. I’m noticing how my perspective is expanding.

Challenges:
Balancing home life and studies is still a challenge, especially when unexpected things happen. However, I’ve developed better routines, and I’m not as easily thrown off by change.

Successes & Strengths:
I joined a live lecture this week for the first time, and it left me feeling connected and motivated. It confirmed that I can do this, and I’m growing into this role as a student again.

Application:
I’m starting to think ahead how I can apply what I’ve learned not only in assessments but in reallife scenarios. It feels empowering.

Areas for Improvement:
I’d like to improve my discussion contributions I often read posts but hesitate to comment. That’s an area of confidence I want to build.

Goals:
  • Comment on at least one peer’s post
  • Begin prepping for final assessments
  • Keep refining my routines
  • Celebrate one win every day, no matter how small

 Module 7

Knowledge Gained:
I gained clearer insight into how assessments are marked and what’s expected of me. Personally, I’ve started enjoying the learning process rather than just focusing on the outcomes.

Challenges:
There were moments when I struggled with my health again, which limited my screen time. However, I’ve learned that audiobased learning works well for me during low-energy days.

Successes & Strengths:
I’ve found a study rhythm that includes lighter learning methods (like podcasts or readings) on days I don’t feel well. This flexibility has helped me stay engaged, even when I can’t give 100%.

Application:
I’m applying my learning more practically now, using concepts in everyday thinking and even sharing what I’ve learned with family. It helps me retain the material.

Areas for Improvement:
I still need to work on consistency. Some days I’m all in, and other days I lose momentum. Finding a middle ground is my next focus.

Goals:
  • Try one new study method (audio, flashcards, mind map)
  • Commit to learning even 15 mins a day when energy is low
  • Continue exploring weekly content more deeply
  • Reflect weekly on how I feel, not just what I’ve done

 Module 6

Knowledge Gained:
This week I deepened my understanding of the course objectives and how they align with the assessments. Personally, I discovered I enjoy research more than I thought, when it’s tied to real world examples.

Challenges:
Staying motivated mid-week was tough. I hit a low point mentally, questioning if I could manage everything. I reminded myself why I enrolled in the first place, and that helped me reset.

Successes & Strengths:
Despite doubts, I completed as much as i could and felt genuinely proud. I also participated in a group discussion, which boosted my confidence. My ability to reflect and bounce back is something I’m beginning to value in myself.

Application:
I’m now scheduling in “recovery time” between study blocks, especially after intense sessions. This helps avoid burnout and gives me space to breathe.

Areas for Improvement:
I need to refine my time-blocking techniques and reduce procrastination caused by distractions at home.

Goals:

  • Use a digital timer to break tasks into 25-minute blocks

  • Reflect midweek to adjust plans if needed

  • Continue participating in at least one group thread

  • Stay connected to my "why"

 Module 5

Knowledge Gained:

This week, I explored more of the course content and found a surprising interest in a topic I didn’t expect to enjoy. Academically, I learned how to locate resources more quickly, and personally, I realised that creating small, achievable goals helps me stay on track.

Challenges:
My health was inconsistent this week, which affected my ability to complete all my intended goals. I couldn’t attend the live session, but I found comfort in reading light content at night. It helped ease the stress of falling behind.

Successes & Strengths:
Even though I didn’t tick off everything from last week, I didn’t give up. I contacted my student support for clarification on an assessment and was met with encouraging support. I’ve started feeling more confident asking for help when I need it.

Application:
I’m learning that being flexible is key. Just because I haven’t achieved everything doesn’t mean I’ve failed. My plans have simply redirected, and that’s okay.

Areas for Improvement:
I want to improve how I manage interruptions during study time and stay mentally present even when sessions are recorded.

Goals:

  • Adjust my goals to be shorter and more realistic

  • Continue light reading at night

  • Revisit one recorded session with focused note-taking

  • Email a facilitator with one question
